For the record: Before Hon. Denis MARSHALL, QSO, got the job of his life on becoming the Secretary-General the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association on 1 January 2002, he was a Member of the New Zealand Parliament from 1984 to 1999 and served as Minister of Conservation and Lands from 1990 to 1996. He also chaired various select committees during his parliamentary career, and as Conservation Minister he sat on his hands for months over the Cave Creek tragedy before finally resigning his portfolio.
