Scoop Images: Painter Robin White Honoured By GG

Painter Robin White is made a Distinguished Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit at Government House today.

Mrs White received the award for services to painting and printmaking. Her work is well known throughout New Zealand.
She is recognised as a key figure in the development of the New Zealand 'regionalist' style. Her work often depicts people in rural landscapes.
She has been a full-time painter and printmaker since 1972.
Mrs White said she was "really pleased" to receive the award and that she was having a Pacific Island themed party in Carterton to celebrate.
