Yesterday a press release went out saying war has hit the Auckland Writers Festival . Be careful what you wish for. What the release was really saying is that American novelist Annie Proulx won't be attending the Festival due to "the heightened threat of terrorism against Americans abroad" and UK writer Iain Banks has burned his passport as a protest against his government's involvement in the war in Iraq...
