An Israeli F-16 has struck a residential area in Gaza City, killing a leading Hamas official. Ten other people were killed, including 150 civilians wounded. Many children were among the dead and injured.

CNN, in a surprising move, broadcast feed of Palestinian children covered in rubble being removed from the scene of the attack.

The attack comes on the heels of a reported statement from Hamas' spiritual leader that attacks on Israelis would cease if Israeli troops withdraw from West Bank cities.

Calls for revenge have risen throughout Palestine and the Arab world.

The attack also comes after initial steps towards defusing the situation were taken by both sides.

Will the world condemn Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his blitzkrieg against the Palestinians?

Not bloody likely.
