This was the extraordinary scene as the Water Pressure Group Picket made its presence felt outside the Auckland District Court just prior to their court hearing on Friday morning.
The group's media spokesperson had previously said "No one has ever done before what we are doing. It should be extremely interesting...." (see… Protest, Inquiry Into Politican Honesty Tomorrow )
This correspondent can only concur with her analysis of events. On the day, the spectacle of a totally interdimensional picketing of the court premises must have been a world's first. Your Scoop reporter could only gasp as the group cleverly shifted its picket into ANOTHER DIMENSION while water (the key player at the centre of the action) moved in in bucket loads to occupy the corresponding space in OUR dimension! Brilliantly executed.
This strategy of interdimensional picketing has not failed to be noticed by Auckland's population either. One bystander, when asked his experience of the action, said "Looks virtually invisible to me mate!" Which, we think, must be the crowning achievement of the event. To have so finely tuned the concept of virtual invisibility (in our internet age) and used it so cunningly in support of their cause must speak volumes for the group's media profile. Don't you agree?
