Scoop Images: Free Trade = Misery, Protestors Say

A group of around 50 protestors raged against free trade outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade today as part of Wellington’s ‘Carnival Against Capitalism’, timed to strike a sour note against Trade Negotiations Minister Jim Sutton’s attendance at the World Trade Organisation meeting in Doha.
Other Carnival Against Capitalism events included: an anti-militarism demonstration at Midland Park; a protest against New Zealand involvement in Afghanistan; a GE Free demonstration in Cuba Mall; and anti-bypass action in Upper Cuba St.
