Clark Rejects Superannuation Accord With Nats
The Government will not enter into discussions on national superannuation with the National party, Prime Minister Helen Clark said today.
She said she had heard nothing from opposition leader Jenny Shipley to make her believe there has been any change in the National Party’s position on the issue.
Miss Clark said Labour are committed to keeping
present levels of superannuation for generations to come,
and said National have not indicated a willingness to
guarantee national superannuation for New Zealanders except
for people already on the
pension.
