Leading US business journalist and author Thomas Stewart, a columnist and contributing editor to FORTUNE Magazine, is headlining New Zealand's largest knowledge economy event, SmartNet workshops at the Christchurch Convention Centre, 1-2 December.
More than 300 senior business people from around New Zealand will attend the event, which also features Canadian intellectual capital expert academic Nick Bontis and Gerard Jorna, Netherlands, worldwide chief of human interface design for electronics giant Philips.
SmartNet will feature some of New Zealand's recent hi-technology triumphs, including Global Brain's Dr Grant Ryan, who sold his web searching technology to US giant NBC this year; electronics millionaire entrepreneur and founder of NZInc Denis Chapman; and entrepreneur Ian Taylor, whose animation company changed the way we watch the America's Cup on television.
The country's leading e-business companies will also be on show, with local company JADE revealing why their programming software is attracting worldwide interest; IBM's e-business principal Prashanta Mukherjee taking a look at the converging digital technologies behind e-business; and ASB Bank IT General Manager Garry Fissenden showing how his company has lead the banking market into e-business.
