CYPFA is calling on the local community to directly discuss with the agency any worries about social work services in
Buller.
"Local officials and a lawyer have expressed various concerns in the media about the fact that CYPFA's services in the
Buller region are provided by staff based in Greymouth. I invite them to come and discuss their specific concerns
directly with me," says the agency's Upper South area manager Helen Aiken.
Mrs Aiken acknowledges there may be some short-term disruptions to full service on the West Coast following the recent
resignations of two social workers.
"However, we will be looking to fill these positions as soon as possible. In the meantime, crucial emergency services
for children at-risk will not be affected."
