Milo Cup Highlight Of Ski Season

Published: Fri 13 Aug 1999 09:55 AM
The Milo Cup will be the highlight of New Zealand's international ski racing season as the country's top athletes carve up the slopes of Coronet Peak next week.
The international points race will showcase members of the New Zealand Ski Team and the Milo National Ski Racing Academy competing against athletes from Australia and Great Britain. Director of Ski Racing New Zealand, Miles Davidson, says the Milo Cup is the premier ski-racing event of the season. "The Cup will bring together a number of strong kiwi athletes and provide a great opportunity for them to test their skills against top international competition, particularly from Australia."
Mr Davidson also says Milo has played a huge part in ensuring the success of the event. "The contribution Milo has made to get such a major event off the ground is truly outstanding."
The four-day competition kicks off on Wednesday, August 18 and runs through until Saturday, August 21. Days one and two of the Milo Cup will be two Giant Slalom events, followed by two Slalom races on days three and four.
Sponsoring the Milo Cup reinforces the position Milo has with skiing in New Zealand and the Milo National Ski Racing Academy. Catch Milo Cup action and results on the Ski Racing New Zealand website at www.skiracing.org.nz/
