Electrical infrastructure upgrade to begin this Friday, 14 September
Work to upgrade Palmerston North Hospital’s electrical infrastructure systems will begin this Friday, 14 September
The first stage of the project will see the removal of three trees in the area of shrubbery near the taxi stand at the main Ruahine Street entrance to the Hospital. Contractors will be working in this area from Friday, and temporary fencing will be erected around the work site.
There will be some disruption to one of the entrances to public carpark A, so the public are asked to avoid exiting through gate 10 and using gates 9 or 11 on Ruahine Street or gate 8 on Tremaine Avenue if possible. A traffic management plan will be in place to oversee this.
Pedestrian access from public carpark A to the main Hospital entrance will still be available, and those with mobility issues can be assured that they will be able to access the Hospital as normal.
The majority of the work will be completed during normal business hours.
The project will upgrade the substations which will future-proof the electrical infrastructure at the Hospital. The first stage of this project is expected to be completed by June 2020.
The patience and understanding of the public is appreciated during this time.
