Federation invites inaugural membership applications
The Establishment Board setting up the Federation of Primary Health Aotearoa New Zealand met for its latest meeting on Tuesday 17 July 2018 under the chairmanship of Dame Annette King.
“We are on schedule to have the Federation operational by September 2018 and I am delighted to now invite applications for the inaugural membership from which the first substantive governance board will be elected.” says Dame Annette King.
Following the previous meetings held of the Establishment Board on 10 April, 7 May and 25 May 2018, the latest meeting continued to make significant progress which included:
Acknowledgement of the significant progress made with regards corporate and legal matters, including incorporation, branding, banking, IRD and gst registrations
Agreement of the Federation’s initial membership framework
Acknowledgement of the expressions of interest received in respect of the consumer representative on the substantive governance board
Arrangements for a formal launch in the New Zealand Parliament Buildings on 12 September 2018
Further
development of the action plan and timelines to become fully
operational
Annette King continued on to say “The
membership offering we are now making in response to the
high level of interest we have received from across the
sector should enable us to secure a broad and inclusive
initial membership. I have no doubt that the Federation is
going to be a significant and credible voice for the sector
from the outset.”
The Federation’s workplan will continue apace with the next formal meeting of the Establishment Board being scheduled for 20 August 2018.
