Martine Abel-Williamson - Awarded QSM

Auckland Disability Law (ADL) is delighted that Martine Abel-Williamson has been awarded the Queen's Service Medal (QSM) for services to people with disabilities in this year's Queen's Honour List.

Please go to the announcements of the QSM Honours on the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet's website for Martine's citation.

Martine has been the Chair of ADL for over eight years. ADL is the only community law centre which solely provides disability related legal services and activities to disabled people in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Martine's work across the disability community and particularly within the vision impaired community is long standing and enormous. At last count, and in addition to her work with ADL, she is involved in 15 disability related community and government roles locally, nationally and internationally. A significant number of these roles are voluntarily in addition to her paid work.

We acknowledge your achievement in being awarded this QSM and all the work you do for us and many others within the community, Martine.

Congratulations!
The ADL Team
