Tauranga Hospital Ward Reopens After Influenza Outbreak
Ward 2A (Kaupapa Ward) at Tauranga Hospital has reopened after an outbreak of influenza earlier this week.
Seven patients on the ward were diagnosed with influenza forcing the hospital to close the ward for new admissions as a precautionary measure.
There have been no new cases of Influenza for more than 48 hours and Ward 2A reopened today.
Our advice to the public is to be very vigilant about hand hygiene, including regular hand washing with soap and water or alcohol gel. If you are feeling unwell you should contact your GP.
