New Zealand Rural General Practice Network National Rural Health Conference 2017
TSB Bank Arena, Wellington, March 30 to April 2
Main conference days are Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 – keynote and concurrent session days.
Keynote speakers:
A line-up of keynote speakers will cover topical health issues such as “Is General Practice funding sustainable and equitable?” and “Are Health Care Homes our salvation?” (Dr Peter Moodie), bullying and family violence (Norm Hewitt), water quality (Marnie Prickett), obesity (Dr Robyn Toomath), mental health and suicide (Matt Shirtcliffe) and health economics (Dr Eric Crampton).
High profile rural health topics such as a recent review of the Primary Response in Medical Emergency (PRIME) system and the question of whether New Zealand needs a rural school of medicine are keynote panel sessions in the programme.
There are also 40 concurrent sessions on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1.
An awards’ night, featuring the Peter Snow Memorial Award, Rural General Practice of the Year Award and Division of Rural Hospital Medicine Fellowships, will be held on the evening of Friday, March 31.
