MEDIA RELEASE - 22 December 2016

FOUR UNIONS RATIFY AGREEMENT WITH ST JOHN NZ

Please find attached a joint statement from Amalgamated Workers Union New Zealand Southern Incorporated (AWUNZ), Central Amalgamated Workers Union Incorporated (CAWU), New Zealand Ambulance Association (NZAA), Ambulance Officers Workplace Union Incorporated (AOWU) and St John on the Operational and Management & Support Collective Employment Agreements ratified by members of these four unions.

St John Chief Executive, Peter Bradley said: “We are fortunate in New Zealand to have a highly skilled workforce (volunteer and paid), valued by all New Zealanders for the important services they provide every day, from 111 call-answering and dispatch through to treating and transporting patients.

“We appreciate the constructive and professional way these four unions have negotiated on behalf of their members over the past six months and their focus on achieving a sustainable agreement that is positive for all parties.”
