MEDIA RELEASE
3 OCTOBER, 2016
Pink your ride and help fight breast cancer
Leading on from the stunning success of 2015, Bridgestone is once again selling Pink Caps to raise funds for The New
Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF) during the months of September and October.
The shiny, rose-pink caps are valve covers that make a great accessory to almost any tyre with a valve – cars, vans,
motorbikes and even pushchairs. They cost $2 each and 100 per cent of the proceeds are donated to The NZBCF.
Last year Bridgestone raised over $71,000 - and a total of over $650,000 for The NZBCF since the campaign first began in
2008. Funds raised go towards early detection of breast cancer, education, supporting those with the disease, research
and medical grants.
John Staples, Associate Director for Bridgestone New Zealand says: “We’re running the Pink Cap Drive campaign for the
ninth consecutive year as breast cancer is something that has touched the lives of many of Bridgestone’s staff and
customers in some way. The NZBCF is a cause we feel passionate about supporting, so I encourage everyone to get involved
and buy some Pink Caps.”
To help Bridgestone support The NZBCF during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, purchase your Pink Caps at either
Bridgestone Select, Bridgestone Tyre Centre or Firestone stores, or online at bridgestonepinkcaps.co.nz until the end of October.
Bridgestone is running a Facebook page facebook.com/pinkcapdrive to support the campaign and share inspirational stories of those who have been affected by breast cancer.
This year Bridgestone is also supporting The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation Pink Caravan, which is currently on a
tour of New Zealand providing education about the disease. Head to www.nzbcf.org.nz/PinkCaravan to see when it’s in your town.
