Calling for the return of loan equipment no longer required
If you are no longer using Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy equipment, please return it to your local hospital. The Allied Health team are asking clients to return loan equipment which is no longer required to ensure there is enough in stock for future patients
Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Team Leader in Wairau, Nicola Westend says there is a high demand for equipment which is usually required short term for a range of people who have had an accident or following surgery.
“We are struggling to match the right equipment to patients due to low stocks,” she says.
“Coming in to winter we tend also tend to have a higher demand, therefore we are keen to get back any items that are no longer required by our clients,” she says.
Nicola says the equipment they are particularly keen to see returned are crutches, shower stools, bath boards and bedside commodes. However the return of all items no longer required is appreciated.
Please return equipment to the equipment store:
• In Nelson, (off Motueka street behind the laundry) on the Braemar Campus. Phone 03 546 1394.
• In Wairau, next to the Southern entrance to the hospital via the service entrance off Taylor Pass Road. Phone 03 520 9927.
If it’s difficult for people to get to a drop-off point please contact us on the numbers above. For more informationrefer to nmdhb.govt.nz/equipment-return.
