The call for abstracts is now open for the Pasifika Medical Association 20 years celebration conference to be held at the Rendezvous Hotel in Auckland from 24-26 August 2016.
“The Conference will be a great opportunity for our Pacific health academics and profesionals to share their work in our quest for excellent Pacific health policy, service delivery and practice in the Pacific region,” says Pasifika Medical Association CEO, Debbie Sorensen.
The Conference will cover a broad range of topics, such as clinical leadership, leadership in clinical governance, emerging leadership competencies and kava as a commodity, cure and communication process. There will be also be a pre-conference workshop on Disaster Management Training with a focus on Cyclone Winston experiences and lessons learned from it.
The Conference will bring together clinical leaders, policy makers and practitioners to discuss and share learnings and experiences about some of the complex health challenges faced by Pacific countries, communities and families.
“Delegates are expected from all over New Zealand and the Pacific region and will include health professionals of all disciplines, policy makers, researchers, students, volunteers and the media.”
Mrs Sorensen says the conference will provide the participants a forum to debate and discuss local and regional issues that have influence in all areas of the health sector.
