Free BOP Seminar: 'Fertility & Treatment Options' hosted by Insight Endometriosis

BOP women and their partners will benefit from a presentation by local fertility expert Dr Brad Chittenden “Fertility & Treatment Options” on Wednesday 25 May. The meeting will be held at the Fulton Hogan office, 54 Aerodrome Rd, Mt Maunganui.

The free seminar is part of an education programme offered by Insight Endometriosis, a community organisation supporting women with endometriosis.

Insight Endometriosis educator Annette Evans, said “Endometriosis is a leading cause of fertility problems in NZ - about 40% of female patients who seek help at Fertility Associates due to this significant condition.

‘Brad is a knowledgeable and engaging speaker and this will be a useful seminar for women and their partners to attend. While targeting those with endometriosis, much of the content will be relevant for anyone facing fertility issues."

Endometriosis is a significant and common condition, which can dramatically impair quality of life.

The most common symptom is period pain, characterised by taking pain relief, bed rest and time off work or studies.

Annette said "Insight Endometriosis supports women to make informed decisions about treatment options and lifestyle changes, and ensures that women and their families aren’t left facing a significant health problem in isolation".
