Nursing Excellence Awards a success across the district.
Nurses revelled last night as Southern DHB celebrated International Nurses’ Day at the Nursing Excellence Awards in Dunedin and Invercargill.
This year 21 recipients were acknowledged and honoured by receiving awards, following 37 Southland nurses and 56 Dunedin nurses being nominated by their peers.
The evening, held annually on Florence Nightingale’s birthday, had a theme this year of ‘Nurses - A Force for Change: Improving health systems’ resilience.
With over 100 attendees at both award ceremonies, it was an opportunity for nurses across the district to come together, celebrate and recognise the nursing innovation, clinical excellence, leadership, research, education and outstanding practice in the nursing profession.
Southern DHB thanks all our nurses for the huge contribution they make every day to health outcomes and communities.
