National health & safety awards now open for entries
AUCKLAND, New Zealand, 10 February 2016
Entries are now open for the 2016 New Zealand Workplace Health and Safety Awards. In operation since 2005, the awards are run by Safeguard magazine and proudly supported by WorkSafe New Zealand. They are the only cross-sector national awards celebrating achievement in health and safety.
The awards recognise businesses and individuals who have launched effective and innovative initiatives to address health and safety issues at their workplace. They give national recognition to good ideas and hard-working people who have made a difference.
Last year’s awards attracted 148 entries and a record 550 people attending the gala dinner.
The organisers would like to encourage everyone to consider entering – it provides an opportunity to reflect on what makes your business successful, to recognise the achievements of staff, and to network and engage with others in the safety community.
The 2016 awards are for initiatives which took place primarily in 2015, but which may have commenced up to a year earlier. The closing date for entries is Monday 4 April. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Auckland’s SKYCITY Convention Centre on 25 May.
