Woman Airlifted From Whakamaru
The BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to an area of the Waikato River Saturday afternoon at 6pm near Whakamaru (51 km SW of Rotorua) to attend a woman that had received injuries from a fall.
Initially attend by an Ambulance crew from Mangakino the helicopter was called in to provide additional medical assistance.
Fire Rescue established a landing zone close to where the incident occurred.
A 45 year old Papamoa woman was then airlifted to Rotorua Hospital in a comfortable condition with leg injuries.
The helicopter was despatched due to the remote location and the nature injury.
