Eldernet releases moderated Aged Care Feedback System.
Eldernet is today announcing the launch of its new nationwide Review System. The public will be able to post online comments about Aged Residential Care facilities and share their thoughts with others.
Eldernet is a New Zealand owned and operated company holding District Health Board (DHB) contracts to report on current aged residential care bed vacancies. This report for the Southern DHB region is available for the public to view on the website (www.eldernet.co.nz).
The new Eldernet feedback service will be moderated and facilities will be given the opportunity to respond to any given feedback. The independent moderators have extensive knowledge in the aged care sector and will ensure sure that feedback given is fair and reasonable.
By introducing this new functionality to the Eldernet website the team is honouring their commitment to being New Zealand’s leading information provider about services for older people. Eldernet is constantly listening to what is being said both in and around the older persons’ sector and aims to help increase transparency and allay any concerns within the wider community. Eldernet sees that this feedback system is a further step along this road.
A lot of time and effort, and extensive testing has gone into building the software involved to make this project a success. Eldernet is pleased to be able to offer this system to all aged care providers and hopes that this proves to be a great way to receive honest, comparable feedback while supporting continued quality and improvement across the sector.
Esther Perriam, Eldernet General Manager, says:
“Rest Homes have often been seen as ‘closed’ services – whereby people can’t discuss what goes on behind closed doors. In the many years Eldernet has worked in the sector we’ve seen great examples of exceptional care. We believe that rest homes want to be able to show the great work they do. This new services allows them to do that – families, visitors and older people themselves, can easily let people know that what happens in many of these services is amazing and life enriching.
There may be comments made that highlight shortcomings, but we are confident that everyone operating this is sector aims for continual improvement; negative comments allow us all to see what we could do better. I don’t think that there would be an operator who does not want to offer their residents the very best.”
Eldernet is pleased by the level of commitment from service providers many of whom have already signalled their wish to be part of this project. The Southern DHB region is one of the first regions to be have this service fully available.
