Parkinson’s Raising Money and Awareness on the Big Screen
An award-winning commercial about the damage Parkinson’s does to the connection between people’s brains and bodies will run in more than 360 cinemas nationwide during Parkinson’s Awareness Week (1 to 7 November).

Featuring the well-known voice of Parkinson’s
NZ Ambassador, pop legend Jordan Luck, the commercial shows
how people living with Parkinson’s can have trouble with
simple tasks.
It also challenges the assumption that
Parkinson’s is only an older person’s condition.
“I want kiwis to give generously during Parkinson’s Awareness Week and learn a bit more about living with a brutal condition like Parkinson’s. Unfortunately Parkinson’s can affect anybody at any age,” says Deirdre.
“It is a sad fact that more and more people find out that they have Parkinson’s each year.
I want to make sure everyone
knows Parkinson’s New Zealand will be there to connect
them to the best support and information.”
Val Morgan Cinema Network chose Parkinson’s NZ to be the recipient charity of this year’s Young Lions Competition. Val Morgan Cinema Network is the Young Lions Competition representative in New Zealand.
The film winners for 2015 were Lennie Galloway and Thomas Gledhill from FCB Auckland. FCB shot the commercial for Parkinson’s NZ.
“Parkinson’s NZ also congratulates Lennie and Thomas on their good work,” Deirdre says.
Parkinson’s Awareness Week runs from 1 to 7 November. Val Morgan Cinema Network will screen the commercial from 29 October to 4 November.
