Art Auction Going Global to Raise Funds for Sir Ray Avery’s Miracle Lifepod Incubator
Almost $300,000 in art works, gifted by some of New Zealand’s most esteemed artists with some international artists,
will be auctioned to raise funds for Sir Ray Avery’s LifePod incubator project and keep thousands of
#littleheartsbeating.
Online bids are now being accepted from throughout New Zealand and internationally and the Auction will be conducted
live at the Auckland Art Gallery on November 5. The Art Auction catalogue is online at the Webb’s Gallery site for a
global audience.
Over 40 artists have donated their work
Funds raised at the auction will provide incubators to communities and hospitals in the Asia Pacific area including
Fiji, Samoa, Rarotonga, Niue, Tokalaus and Tonga. www.medicinemondiale.org/
“We would like the auction to raise enough funds for at least 150 LifePods, each one capable of saving 500 lives,” said
Lady Anna Avery, who is organising the auction with Webbs Auction House.
Interest from prominent artists to gift to the auction is ongoing, and private collectors are also donating artworks
from their collections.
“I am overwhelmed by the engagement and philanthropic spirit of the artists,” continued Lady Avery.
With some works worth up to $40,000, artists include Paul Dibble, Virginia King, Michel Tuffrey, Marti Friedlander, Dick
Frizzell, John Radford, Sue Hawker, Richard Killeen, Barry Lett, Emma Bass and many more. A full list of artists to date

Webbs Art Dealers are in partnership with Sir Ray’s charity Medicine Mondiale to stage the auction and Webbs are
donating their time and expertise, providing an online catalogue of all the works for auction at as well as providing
access to their international art buyers.
