New Zealand Multiple Birth Association announces name change to Multiples NZ
The New Zealand Multiple Birth Association (NZMBA); a volunteer organisation that supports and advocates for parents of multiples has officially changed its name to Multiples NZ.
Founded in 1982, as an Incorporated Society, the NZMBA has represented over 18,000 multiple birth families. At a national level the organisation provides services such as writing and producing resources, researching issues for multiple birth families and advocating for their needs. Also run by volunteers, local clubs provide an array of services to parents of multiples including networking and support to running Facebook groups, organising social and educational activities, and hiring equipment.
“Our new name and brand reflects the start of an exciting new era in our organisation”, says President Carolyn Lister. “We are thrilled that the name and brand reflects all our members whether they are newly pregnant, have babies or multiples at school or even university.”
