Enrolled nurses honoured
Enrolled nurses Anita Te Kahu and Dorothy Browning were honoured at an awards ceremony in Wellington last night.
NZNO president Marion Guy says, “Anita and Dorothy are valued leaders, both for enrolled nurses and within the New Zealand Nurses Organisation.”
Anita is an active member of the NZNO enrolled nurse section and an esteemed Te Rūnanga representative. She has been active in planning and facilitating Enrolled Nurse Study Days. Anita was on the organising committee of this year’s enrolled nurse conference and is a valued supporter of enrolled nurse student at Whitireia nursing school.
Dorothy trained at Middlemore Hospital and has worked for the last 10 years at Manukau Surgery Centre. Dorothy was on the national committee for Enrolled Nurse Section NZNO from 2010-2014 and is the Secretary for the Auckland Enrolled Nurses Section. She is actively involved in mentoring enrolled nurse students and graduates from Manukau Institute of Technology. Dorothy was the recipient of Counties Manual Health Nursing and Midwifery Awards 2015 for excellence in clinical practise.
Marion Guy says, “It is an honour for me to recognise Dorothy and Anita’s commitment, dedication and contribution to enrolled nursing at a regional and national level.”
