Father’s Day is a special day to recognise and celebrate the role fathers play in our life. Whether it’s your Dad, step-dad, foster
dad or just a special father figure who has helped you along the way, Father’s Day is your chance to say ‘Thank You’.
Before you head off shopping perhaps he would welcome a hand with tasks around the garden. Particularly if he has
arthritis and those tasks he did so easily as you were growing up, are now a real challenge.
“Arthritis makes day to day activities difficult and painful. Perhaps mowing the lawn, trimming the tree you played in,
or planting some vegetables in the garden would bring a real smile to his face” said Sandra Kirby, Arthritis New
Zealand, Chief Executive. “Or perhaps the family car needs a wash and polish”. One of these thoughtful actions may take
the challenges of what to buy away.
