Does your dad need your help on Sunday?
Father’s Day is a special day to recognise and celebrate the role fathers play in our life. Whether it’s your Dad, step-dad, foster dad or just a special father figure who has helped you along the way, Father’s Day is your chance to say ‘Thank You’.
Before you head off shopping perhaps he would welcome a hand with tasks around the garden. Particularly if he has arthritis and those tasks he did so easily as you were growing up, are now a real challenge.
“Arthritis makes day to day activities difficult and painful. Perhaps mowing the lawn, trimming the tree you played in, or planting some vegetables in the garden would bring a real smile to his face” said Sandra Kirby, Arthritis New Zealand, Chief Executive. “Or perhaps the family car needs a wash and polish”. One of these thoughtful actions may take the challenges of what to buy away.
Managing the pain of arthritis is the focus for so many, and that may include your Dad.
Arthritis New Zealand is the national organisation focussed on raising awareness of the more than 140 different forms of arthritis, advocating for those with the condition, and providing advice and support.
