Stay Over at Choice Hotels And Help Those Living with Cystic Fibrosis Become Invincible
To celebrate its two year partnership, Choice Hotels will donate $2 to Cystic Fibrosis NZ from every night stayed at any
Choice hotel across New Zealand from 25 May until 31 May.
With more than 35 hotels across New Zealand including the Econo Lodge, Comfort, Quality and Clarion hotel brands, Choice
Hotels hopes to raise $15,000 through the ‘Make Cystic Fibrosis Invincible’ initiative.
Trent Fraser, Choice Hotels Chief Executive Officer, is thrilled to be involved in the fundraising efforts for a second
year.
“Effectively the more people that stay at our hotels over this period, the more we can give to this important cause. We
are so pleased of how much we are able to contribute to the lives of those living with cystic fibrosis and urge anyone
planning to travel during this time to support the cause by simply choosing to book a bed with Choice,” Fraser says.
Belinda Burnett, Chief Executive Officer of Cystic Fibrosis NZ, said the money raised will go directly towards the
organisation’s hard-working fieldworkers.
“Our fieldworkers travel the country to support and positively influence the lives of those living with cystic fibrosis,
both in their homes, in hospitals and specialist visits,” said Burnett.
“We are incredibility grateful to Choice Hotels for its support which has enabled us to significantly reduce our running
costs, allowing us to make a stronger impact on the lives of those living with the disorder,” she said.
Cystic fibrosis is the most common life threatening genetic disorder affecting New Zealand children. The condition
affects several organs, especially the lungs and pancreas, by clogging them with mucus. It can cause shortness of
breath, a chronic cough and repeated chest infections. The average life expectancy for those with cystic fibrosis is
significantly lower than the general population.
This will be the second of several initiatives undertaken by Choice Hotels in its partnership for the charity, with a
further fundraising initiative planned during the critical Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Week.
