Elderly Matakana resident flown to hospital
This evening the Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was dispatched to Matakana Is where a local resident had suffered serious respiratory difficulties as a result of a pre existing medical condition, the man, in his sixties, was flown to Tauranga hospital for further treatment. The helicopter used because of the difficulty getting off the Island after hours and the potential seriousness of the man's condition.
