Motorcycle crash - SH1

The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched at approximately 10pm last night to the scene of a motorcycle crash on SH1 near Taupiri. The male motorcyclist was airlifted to Waikato Hospital with a serious leg injury.
The helicopter carried an ED
Doctor and Paramedics to provide the best possible care to
the patient who was prepared at the scene for urgent surgery
upon arrival at Waikato Hospital. Multiple Police, Fire and
Ambulance units attended at the scene and the helicopter was
utilised to ensure rapid response and quick transportation
of the patient to hospital.
