Cycle ride to raise awareness of mental health
Ride Out of The Blue, the 22 -day cycle ride throughout New Zealand commences on October 10 from Bluff and finishes at Cape Reinga on November 1.
The aim is to raise awareness of depression and suicide and raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation.
The cycle ride will cover 2, 330 kms in 22 days.
Ten cyclists are coming together from across New Zealand and Australia to take part this year in Ride Out Of the Blue; most have been affected by mental health issues in one way or another.
The Ride Out Of The Blue team will be stopping in cities and towns throughout their journey, visiting and engaging with local schools and communities discussing the issues surrounding depression, suicide and mental health.
Ride Out Of the Blue is not only hoping to raise awareness of mental health issues, but also raise $50,000 for the Mental Health Foundation’s initiative Mindfulness in Schools.
