Three-Legs for a Good Cause
Silver Fern and CanTeen ambassador, Maria Tutaia, threw her support behind CanTeen this afternoon at their ‘Never Alone’
Three-Legged Challenge.
Pairs consisting of people aged between 3 and 60 years old joined in the challenge at Silo Park to support the beginning
of CanTeen’s annual ‘Never Alone’ appeal.
No young person should go through cancer alone and to raise awareness of this, CanTeen hosted a challenge that no single
person could enter on their own.
The public who came down to support CanTeen raced alongside CanTeen members in the three-legged challenge.
Maria Tutaia teamed up with CanTeen member, Caitlin King, and despite their pre-race confidence, they came a close
second.
The teams were required to work together to navigate around a course filled with obstacles that involved climbing,
running and literally jumping through hoops.
The MC for the event, Erin Simpson, is a well-known New Zealand television personality and another CanTeen ambassador.
She kept the crowd entertained, had an eye out for anybody cutting any corners, and ensured everyone had an enjoyable
time.
Participants were tied together with the much-loved CanTeen Bandanna’s, which resulted in a bright and colorful
atmosphere for those passing by.
CanTeen’s street appeal will take place on Friday 19 September, so if you missed the opportunity to support CanTeen in
