Joint Commission International Launches Hospital Search Site for Patients
Provides Profiles of Hospitals and Academic Medical Centers with JCI Accreditation
Joint Commission International (JCI) is pleased to announce the launch of a unique global directory of JCI-accredited hospitals to guide residents and travelers in choosing a health care facility outside the United States.
The directory, WorldHospitalSearch.org [http://www.worldhospitalsearch.org], is free to the public and available in 80 languages. It is easily searchable by country, specialty or organization name. In addition, the site explains the value of seeking an organization that has met the rigorous quality and safety standards to earn JCI's Gold Seal of Approval.(R) There also is a section with resources on how to be an informed patient, including a traveler's checklist and country health profiles.
"This innovative site strengthens our partnership with patients and health care leaders around the world as we work together to transform quality and patient safety," says Paula Wilson, president and chief executive officer, JCI and Joint Commission Resources. "Now we can share accreditation information with individuals who are researching superior health services in their own countries or while traveling. We want patients and communities to understand the prestigious JCI Gold Seal of Approval and seek it out for their own health care needs."
WorldHospitalSearch.org http://www.worldhospitalsearch.org was featured 28 August 2014 at the Hospital Management Asia (HMA) 2014 conference opening ceremony in Cebu City, Philippines, the largest educational event for health care managers in Asia.
