Disability Focused Politicians’ Forum
10am – 12pm, Saturday 30 August
WA Building, AUT University
A group of Disabled People’s Organisations, providers and disabled people have organised a forum for disabled people and their families to hear how the main parties plan on tackling the big issues that effect disabled people.
Now representing one in four people in the general population, people with a disability represent a significant voting block.
As well as the chance to hear the stories and perspectives of disabled people on the issues that matter to them, this event will provide an opportunity to hear first hand analysis from social and organisation change consultant and diversity champion Philip Patston, Attitude Pictures contributor Olivia Shivas and Lauren Corbett, Campaign Manager for 20percent a social media campaign aimed at motivating people within the disability community to get out and vote.
