New Zealand Population Health Congress
Registrations are now open
The New Zealand College of Public Health Medicine, the Public Health Association and the Health Promotion Forum warmly
welcome your registration for the inaugural New Zealand Population Health Congress being held 6-8 October 2014 at the
Aotea Centre, Auckland.
The Congress will be a major event in New Zealand's population health calendar this year. It is a chance for you to
learn, discuss and debate advances in population health thinking and practice in areas such as child health, housing,
nutrition, indigenous health and climate change.
The overarching Congress theme is 'Connecting Communities, Science and Policy' and the programme provides multiple
opportunities to achieve this goal.
Exceptional keynote speakers
A range of inspiring and challenging local and international keynote speakers have already been confirmed. They include:

Sharing your work
An important aim of the Congress is to provide opportunities for the population health workforce to present their work
to colleagues and wider New Zealand audiences. Presentation formats range from short talks to interactive workshops.
Abstract submissions are strongly encouraged (closing 29 May 2014).
Developing your skills
The programme includes short courses and master classes that aim to update knowledge and competencies in more than a
dozen critical public health areas.
Enjoyment, health and sustainability
The programme has many opportunities for you to socialise and relax with colleagues. There is a strong emphasis on
healthy food, exercise, and sustainability.
