ALCP Submission - National Drug Policy
The Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party says the National Drug Policy review by the Ministry of Health is a huge opportunity for medical cannabis users.
The party's submission calls for the regulation of cannabis alongside alcohol, tobacco, legal highs and pharmaceuticals.
"ALCP supports age restrictions for cannabis and a licensing regime for the control of production and distribution of cannabis, especially for medical purposes," party leader Julian Crawford said.
"We support the Law Commission's call for immediate Clinical Trials of raw cannabis for medical purposes."
The ALCP believe there are provisions under existing legislation to allow medical cannabis research and trials , just as has already been done in the past with opium based drugs like codeine.
