ACC appoints GM Injury Prevention
ACC chief executive Scott Pickering has announced the appointment of Megan McKenna as General Manager Injury Prevention.
“This is a key appointment for ACC, given our strategic goal to reduce the incidence and severity of injury in New Zealand. We are significantly increasing investment in injury prevention programmes and working closely with other government and non-government agencies and organisations to increase the effectiveness and reach of injury prevention programmes,” said Mr Pickering.
“I am delighted that Megan is joining us to lead this important work. She shares our vision to help reduce the risk of injury to Kiwis and to reduce the social and economic impact of injuries for New Zealand.”
Dr McKenna will join ACC on 4 February 2014.
Over the past six years, Dr McKenna has held a range of executive advisory and consulting roles to organisations including New Zealand Post, Meridian Energy, Department of Internal Affairs and the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment. She has held executive and strategic roles with organisations across a range of industries, including Argenta, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and the Fonterra Group.
A dual citizen of Canada and New Zealand, Dr McKenna moved to NZ in 1996.
Dr McKenna holds a PhD in Economic Geography from the University of Ottawa.
