Private Health Insurance
The Grey Power Board and members are concerned at the large number of older persons who are being priced out of their private health insurance at a time in their life when they need it most.
Grey Power intends to step up its campaign to get legislation introduced into parliament which will ensure that aged based premiums can only be used at the time of joining.
Grey Power supports the introduction of legislation similar to that of Australia which keeps health insurance affordable for older people.
Grey Power will continue to promote a full and efficient health system for all New Zealanders while recognising the significant load that private health insurance removes from the public system.
