National health & safety awards now open for entries
Auckland, 14 February 2013 - Entries are now open for the 2013 New Zealand Workplace Health and Safety Awards. In their
ninth year, the awards are run by Safeguard magazine and proudly supported by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and
Employment.
The awards recognise businesses and individuals who have launched effective and innovative initiatives to address health
and safety issues at their workplace. They give national recognition to good ideas and hard-working people who have made
a difference.
The 2013 awards are for initiatives which took place primarily in 2012, but which may have commenced up to a year
earlier. The closing date for entries is 19 April. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Auckland’s SKYCITY
Convention Centre on 29 May.

Site Safe best health and safety initiative by a small business
Category 7 – LARGE ORGANISATION
Impac best significant health and safety initiative by a large organisation
Category 8 – LEADERSHIP
ACC best leadership of an industry sector or region
Category 9 – PRACTITIONER
NZISM health and safety practitioner of the year
Category 10 – EMPLOYEE
Ross Wilson – NZCTU most influential employee
Category 11 – EXECUTIVE LEADER
