Recipients of SBS Bank Golf Invitational Proceeds Announced.
SBS Bank account holders have voted for the $10,000 proceeds from the 2013 SBS Bank Golf Invitational to be split between two worthy charities; Alzheimers Southland and the Southland branch of Blind Citizens NZ.
SBS Bank Invercargill Branch Manager Neil Bramley said it was the first time the proceeds had been split and meant each charity would receive $5,000.
“A number of our customers had contacted us asking if the proceeds could be shared. We thought it was a great idea and a really good way to support two worthy charities that do an amazing job in our community.”
As SBS Star account holders, Alzheimers Southland and the Southland branch of Blind Citizens NZ were potentially eligible to receive a share of the SBS Bank Golf Invitational proceeds. SBS Bank account holders were encouraged to vote for their preferred charity, via phone, email or by popping into a local branch.
Blind Citizens NZ Southland Vice-Chairwoman Andrea Courtney said the donation would be a welcomed boost for the organisation.
“We’re over the moon and absolutely delighted that we’ve been chosen to receive the $5,000 proceeds. The extra money will enable us to continue our advocacy and peer-support work we currently do in the community.
“We’re really grateful to the team at SBS Bank. They’ve been great supporters of us over the years and we’re really happy to be part of the SBS family.”
The 36th SBS Bank Golf Invitational will be held at the Invercargill Golf Course on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of February 2013.
