Hospice West Auckland ‘Christmas Stars’
Each year Hospice West Auckland runs a very special Christmas fundraising drive called ‘Christmas Stars’.
During December special Hospice West Auckland Christmas trees are set up in shopping areas around West Auckland and in the weeks leading up to Christmas, members of the community are invited to support Hospice West Auckland by writing a message to a loved one who cannot be with them at Christmas on one of the special Christmas stars, and then hanging the star on the Hospice Christmas tree.
Over the month of December the Hospice Christmas trees will gradually be covered with these special handwritten ‘Christmas Stars’, each holding a special message.
‘Christmas Stars’ is a very special fundraising drive for Hospice West Auckland - the ‘Christmas Stars’ not only help to raise much needed funds enabling Hospice to continue to care for patients and families throughout the greater West Auckland area, but they also provide an outlet of remembrance for families who may be experiencing a Christmas without a loved one.
This is a very special year for Hospice West Auckland as it is our Silver Jubilee (25th anniversary). To celebrate this milestone all our stars will be a silver colour this year.
Keep an eye out for our ‘Christmas Stars’ trees and support Hospice West Auckland in the following locations in West Auckland this December:
• Kelston: Kelston Shopping Centre 2 – 24 December
• Henderson: WestCity 2 – 24 December
