Andrew McLeod, Craig Hilton and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome exhibition opening - this Thursday at the Audio Foundation
You are cordially invited to attend the opening of Andrew McLeod, Craig Hilton and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - The Sickness Show at 5.30pm, Thursday 4 September at the Audio Foundation.
Craig Hilton is a New Zealand scientist, artist and educator. After completion of a PhD in Biochemistry at the
University of Otago, New Zealand, he took a position at Harvard Medical School and later at the University of
Massachusetts as an oncologist and immunologist. He returned to New Zealand in 2003 and completed an MFA at the
University of Auckland, Elam School of Fine Arts. He is interested in: the interaction of science and art, particularly
art/science collaborations i.e those with genuine art and science value/outputs; how art might be able to contribute to
dialogue regarding science, molecular biology, biological discovery, biotechnology etc; and the cultural implications of
the these revolutionising technologies.
Andrew McLeod is a painter and printmaker in New Zealand... he also fucks around with musical composition and
performance and most importantly for this show has an inappropriate relationship with textile design.
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a disease that began to inhabit the same space time and so called consciousness of the human
animal known as Andrew McLeod about 7 years ago. c.f.s has been making drawings, noise and weak complaints for about
300,000 years.
