Food recall issued after Listeria detected - reminder

Food recall issued after Listeria detected - reminder

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is reminding people of the nationwide voluntary recall of some ready-to-eat meat products manufactured by Bay Cuisine.

MPI has overseen the voluntary recall, issued on 19 July 2012, after Listeria was detected in some ready-to-eat meat products.

The use-by and best-before dates on some of the products extend to early September, so MPI wants to remind people who could still have some of the recalled ready-to-eat meats to throw them out or return them to where they bought them. These products should not be eaten.

Details of the recall can be found here: http://www.foodsmart.govt.nz/elibrary/consumer/ready-eat-meat-products-recall.htm

Any person concerned about their health should seek medical advice.

Important information for people at-risk to Listeria is also available on MPI’s website at: http://www.foodsmart.govt.nz/food-safety/foodborne-illnesses/listeria/
