Learn what you’ve always wanted to know about arthritis
Arthritis New Zealand would like to invite interested members of the public and health professionals to join our staff, clients and Arthritis New Zealand members for a one-day, public conference on 16 May 2012 at Waipuna Hotel, Auckland.
Arthritis New Zealand Chief Executive Sandra Kirby says the conference is aimed at raising awareness of arthritis.
“Arthritis is a serious health condition with no known cure and is the single greatest cause of disability in New Zealand. More than half a million people are affected by arthritis during their lifetime.
“For people living with arthritis, one of the most important steps in self-management is to learn as much as possible. The more you know, the better prepared you are to enjoy a better quality of life. Our conference will be a great chance for people to learn about the latest research and access expert knowledge on the management of arthritis,” said Sandra.
Keynote speakers include internationally-recognised specialists and researchers, including Professor Keith Rome, Associate Professor Lisa Stamp, Dr Peter Larmer and Dr Rosamund Vallings.
Sessions will include osteoarthritis, gout, fibromyalgia, pain management and hand therapy and many others.
Registration costs – Arthritis New Zealand members $20, non-members $50, and health professionals $250.
