Stephie T: I’m saying Bye Bye to the “Buffet Girl!”

Stephie T: I’m saying Bye Bye to the “Buffet Girl!”

Famous for the iconic character of Donna Heke in Shortland Street, actress Stephanie Tauevihi is now taking centre stage in her new role as the New Zealand Ambassador for Jenny Craig, with a commitment to shedding 20 kilos.

The award winning actress and singer who has “tried everything” to lose weight, believes Jenny Craig is the most realistic way for her to get back down to a healthier weight and regain the confidence she had on the small screen.

“Like many mothers my age, I have been focusing on everything but my health,” says Stephie.

“While I was busy with other things, my eating got out of control and the next thing I knew I found myself eating three pies a day.”

Managing Director of Jenny Craig New Zealand and Australia, Amy Smith, says that like many Kiwi women, stress has taken its toll on Stephanie, who turned to eating to cope with pressure and lacked the skills to take care of her diet and wellbeing.

“Jenny Craig is delighted to be working with Stephie T – she is a fun and energetic person who just needs support to help her prioritise nutrition and exercise,”

“We know she is a role model to a lot of New Zealanders and we hope her journey will encourage and inspire others in a similar position to get the support they need”, says Ms Smith.

Stephie T says her Jenny Craig consultant Caroline will teach her the life-long skills for a healthy diet and lifestyle. That plan will see her eat smaller portion sizes, but eat more regularly, and show her how to enjoy healthy meals and snacks.

“Caroline is my new BFF,” says Stephie T. “I look forward to seeing her and sharing my progress each week. Caroline has already taught me a really important lesson - healthy food doesn’t need to be boring! I can eat bangers and mash and still feel good about myself.”

Stephie T says that since she made the decision to join Jenny Craig she’s already found a spring in her step:

“I just can’t wait to go and buy clothes and get myself a new wardrobe; I want to look and feel choice! I want to buy a bra that fits properly. I want my bath towel to go all the way around me and I want to look in the mirror without feeling fat and yuk. But more importantly I want to feel more like myself again.”

“I’m excited about taking action, OMG this is the first day of the rest of my life!” she said.
