Lane Neave Lawyers helps raise money for Emergency Care Foundation.
Last month Lane Neave Lawyers helped raise $30,000 for the Christchurch Emergency Care Foundation at their annual golf
day.
“Lane Neave has had a strong relationship with the Emergency Care Foundation for many years” states managing partner
Michael Wolfe.
It was the doctors and nurses at Christchurch Hospital that saw the worst of all the casualties last year but thanks to
their skills, determination and expertise they were able to save many lives. It is the demands on their technical
expertise and equipment that Lane Neave wanted to address. We were pleased to be able to host this event this year,
given that the 2011event was cancelled due to the earthquake and for that reason we were determined to ensure that the
2012 event really benefited the emergency care department.
The Emergency Care Foundation, established in 2002 after the realisation that various internal and external departments
needed co-ordination of their research projects in the Emergency Department. Their mission to ensure the Emergency Care
is the best it can possibly be. Projects include research into waiting times, overcrowding, diagnostic accuracy and
decision making (particularly in relation to heart disease, leg and lung blood clots and infections like Meningitis)
It was not surprising that Dr Mike Ardagh was award the New Zealand Order of Merit in the New Years Honours list last
year. Mike and his team work tirelessly for the community of Christchurch and their findings help on a world wide front.
Dr. Scott Pearson commented on the day saying it was “a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and evening. To raise over
$30,000 for the ECF is a huge success and we are very grateful. This money will go towards supporting research and the
purchase of equipment we firmly believe adds enormously to the level of care we can provide in the Emergency
Department".
