Public meetings throughout the West Coast

Following the successful Community Health Expo held in Greymouth, the West Coast DHB is running a series of public meetings to discuss changes to the health system on the West Coast. People are invited to come along to share their ideas.

Dr Carol Atmore, Chief Medical Officer for the DHB will be leading the meetings which will update the public on the Better, Sooner, More Convenient changes that are designed to make the health system more clinically and financially sustainable.

Dr Atmore says, “We will be asking people if they could change one thing about healthcare on the Coast what would it be? This is a great opportunity for us to hear what services people want and how they want those services delivered.”

The meetings will be held at:

Westport – Salvation Army Hall, Henley Street - Monday 19 March at 7pm
Reefton – Conference Room, Reefton Health - Tuesday 20 March 7pm
Hokitika - St John meeting room, Stafford Street – Wednesday 21 March 7pm
Greymouth – St John Lecture Room, Waterwalk Road - Thursday 22 March 2pm and 7pm
Franz Josef – Franz Medical Centre meeting room, Cron Street - Tuesday 27 March 7pm

Dr Atmore encourages everyone with an interest in the health system on the West Coast to come along to a meeting near them and hear about the DHB’s plans for the future and to offer their thoughts and opinions.
