NZMA remembers Christchurch one year on
22 February 2012
As New Zealand remembers the tragic events in Christchurch one year ago today, the New Zealand Medical Association (NZMA) wishes to acknowledge and pay respect to the doctors who died in the earthquake:
Dr Mayson Abbas and Dr Dominic Bell, both present in the medical clinic located in the CTV building and;
Dr Tamara Cvetanova, a Serbian trained paediatrician who was studying English in order to achieve medical practitioner registration in New Zealand.
The NZMA also wishes to again acknowledge and commend the skill and courage of our primary and hospital care medical, nursing and paramedical colleagues in their response to provide the emergency and on-going care required by the casualties of the earthquake.
